The benefits of wearing Invisalign® for straighter teeth do not end with appearance since straighter teeth can also improve oral health. However, crooked teeth can cause infection and bite issues. For patients interested in discreetly straightening their teeth, we offer Invisalign® as a treatment at Calistoga Dental Group.
A series of clear aligner trays called Invisalign® cover the teeth, similar to a retainer or mouth guard, but much more discreet. Patients will switch to the next set of aligners every two weeks or so. We customize Invisalign® aligners so each patient will gradually get their teeth into the correct position without experiencing excessive discomfort.
Process of Invisalign Treatment
First, you must book a consultation with us and let our dentist conduct an initial examination. This examination will involve reviewing the patient's medical history, the current state of health, and prescribed medications. Knowing these details helps us develop the treatment plan depending on the position of the patient's teeth. Once we send the information to the lab, specialists will start working on the Invisalign® trays. Besides, they will create a teeth mold for further assessment and monitor the treatment progress.
After creating the trays, we meet with the patient to ensure they fit. Then we discuss the steps in the straightening process to get their final approval.

Duration to Wear Aligners
Invisalign® trays can be removed when necessary, but the patient will want to keep them on for as long as possible. The longer the patient does not wear the aligner trays, the longer the process will take. In addition, patients will need to remove the aligner trays when eating and brushing their teeth.
You may remove aligner trays during games, presentations, dates, and when taking photos. However, to witness the best results, dentists advise keeping on your aligners for most of the time ( 22 hours per day).

Made to Fit Your Teeth
Using programming technology, we determine the projected rate of movement of the patient's teeth. After that, we customize the aligner so Invisalign® fits your teeth perfectly. As we build the rest of the series, each set of clear aligners will be closer to the correct position for straight teeth.
In a customized straightening procedure, patients do not need to worry about their aligners falling out. Since no one-size-fits-all treatment exists, the trays are customized to fit each patient.
